More On Dorso Direxa Posture

  1. Fitting the metal rods: Remove the 2 metal rods from the pockets and fit them to the spine individually. Put the metal rods back in the pockets.
  2. Optional – install the pad: Use the hook-and-loop closure to attach the pad to the inside of the brace so that it is at least 1 cm above the seat surface when seated.
  3. Application: Place the upper part of the brace over the shoulders like a backpack. Place the lower part of the brace around the trunk. Place the fingers in the hand straps of the abdominal closure. Apply equal force to both sides to pull the brace forward.
  4. Hook-and-loop material: Attach the right part to the top of the left part of the abdominal closure. Remove the fingers from the left and then from the right hand strap. Ensure that the hook-and-loop sections lie flat against each other and are not in contact with clothing or skin. Route the ends of the shoulder strap to the front around the chest and secure the hook-and-loop closure below the chest .
  5. Increasing compression: Pull the ends of the elastic straps forward and attach them to the bottom closure.
  6. Final check: The correct fit and proper positioning of the brace must be checked during handover to the patient. The brace is seated correctly when the lower edge of the brace extends just below the groin.
  7. Instruct the patient: Explain to the patient how to don the brace and ensure that it is seated correctly. Practice donning and doffing the brace with the patient.

Selecting the Size:

  • Measure the waist circumference approx. 2cm above the iliac crest.
  • Determine the brace size.
